Canoe Station

Place for water hikers

With the designation of a tent area for water hikers on the VCP Guide and Scout centra, the Association of Christian Scouts and Scouts (VCP) makes a significant contribution to the strengthening of guided water tourism in the region and thus to the protection of nature. Multi-day water walks on the Mecklenburg Lake District are becoming more and more attractive and lead to increased stress on nature through free camping.

By providing a supervised canoeing station, the VCP responds to its understanding of sustainability and the integration of regional conservation efforts. The VCP is with the Canoe Station part of the INTERRECIIIC project "Rural Waters - tourism on and on the water". Tourist companies, municipalities, administrations and associations of the region initiated the "Canoe Initiative at Ruppiner Land" within the framework of this project and initiated decisive steps towards the development of gentle, guided canoe tourism with the help of a comprehensive water migration information and guidance system in the Naturpark Stechlin-Ruppiner Land. This information and guidance system is linked to the system of the neighboring Uckermärkische Seen Nature Park.

In addition, the VCP enters into a partnership with the German Canoe Association (DKV) and provides the facility as a DKV Canoe Station. For route planning, here is another overview of the DKV canoe station. With the canoe station the Campsite is part of the regional development due to the tent area accessible throughout the season and the provision of a basic infrastructure for water hikers.
